Avatar Factions Returns!

Hello, everyone! We here at Mega are very excited to announce that an expansion of our avatar server will be opening up soon: Avatar Factions! This competitive, pvp-centric server type could first be found on Mega back in 2012, and now it is returning at last. The tentative opening date/time is 3pm EST on Saturday, March 13th. Would you like an intense bending survival experience full of excitement, risk, and pvp? If you answered yes to any of those questions, Avatar Factions might be perfect for you!

Before you jump in, however, you should make sure you’re familiar with everything Factions has to offer!



What are factions?

  • Factions are all about power, which can be gained by playing and surviving over time. Players can band together and create factions, which pools their power and allows them to acquire territory. Factions can make peace between one another (allyship), create temporary peace treaties (truce), or be openly hostile against their enemies.
  • To get started, all you need to do is “/f create <factionname>” and “/f desc <describe your faction>.” After that, you can find a good piece of land and “/f claim” before inviting all your friends with “/f invite <name>”!
  • Once you’re all set up, you can raid and destroy other factions as everyone competes to be the most influential clan on the server.


What’s the difference?


  • The biggest difference in rules between factions and towny: all forms of griefing, scamming, betraying, and raiding are ALLOWED on factions. Server staff will not step in to help you if any of those events occur!
  • Custom moves will be temporarily disabled on the factions server-this gives us time to rebalance them and make sure they don’t give anyone an extreme, unfair advantage.
  • Bending will be buffed against armor and mobs, which will help center it as the main form of combat.
  • Chi fusion with other elements will be disabled to prevent anyone from being unfairly advantaged.
  • Similarly, rank perks are being reworked to better fit the competitive nature of factions.
  • Weapons will not multiply bending damage.
  • As a result of the public opinion poll, multi bending will be enabled in factions; however, this is subject to change.


Towny and Factions, linked:


  • Players will be able to transfer items from Towny to Factions, but not the other way around. This prevents hoarding, and ensures that the stakes remain high! However, some items will not be transferable to factions to keep things fair: this includes diamond and netherite swords and armor, as well as shulker boxes. There is a 24 hour cooldown following each transfer.
  • The economies of towny and factions will also be connected; make money in one to help you thrive in the other.
